However, good compacts, correctly used, give good results.

The editor of an angling magazine once told me that the average
quality of pictures that he recieved from the public was
terrible. The chances of a good quality picture, with some
explanation, being published, and PAID for, was very good indeed.

Believe me, this is true of many specialist publications. If you
have an interest, such as horses, dogs, fishing etc. - there may 
well be a sale for your pictures. Study some of the magazines.
